SITUATION:
Hertz Car Rental was looking for ways to store personal information within their local edition stores. Privacy was a large issue because they needed to keep credit card and private information safe, especially in their high traffic locations. How could accessing files be efficient while still keeping privacy a top priority?

SOLUTION:
SpaceWorks went to work within the STUdio Design Team to create a filing cabinet that would answer Hertz’s privacy concerns. A mock-up was created of the filing cabinet and presented to Hertz, whose suggestions created the final piece. The result? A lateral filing cabinet with self-closing/self locking drawers that automatically lock upon closure. A key cannot be removed in the unlocked position and lock core springs ensure that the drawer is always locked. The high quality 20-gauge steel filing cabinet can be letter or legal filing, has full extension self-closing suspension, and adjustable ball bearing glides. Managers of Hertz carry the key to the cabinets, therefore are the only ones who can access any of the filing information.

RESULT:
Spaceworks has now shipped and installed these filing cabinets in 23 Hertz Car Rental locations, with orders ongoing. SpaceWorks has become the standard for all new Hertz locations.
